Kolesov is a unique passenger three-deck banquet boat constructed in 2014 in Nizhny Novgorod upon the PKS-40 project. The boat got its name because of original design of the propulsion/steering unit which uses paddle wheels instead of water propellers usual for contemporary boats. The use of the paddle wheels allows the ship to work in the shallows, improves its maneuvering ability and reduces vibration on the way. The electric motor drive for the wheels results in almost complete lack of unpleasant exhaust. It's really fascinating to watch the propulsion/steering unit at work, it is sure to bring true enjoyment and esthetic pleasure for guests.
The boat is more than 36 metres long and more than 9 metres wide. Because of these dimensions it can approach most of the city's piers. The boat is of Class R 1,2 of the River Register and can operate safely on any rivers and small lakes.
